Physical
The bruiser type — Physical Weakness Break Implodes enemies and deals direct damage.
- Implosion (Break) (Physical) — Breaking a Physical-weak enemy applies Implosion: a delayed action plus a Physical damage-over-time tick. Strong against tanky single targets.
- Toughness damage (Any attack) — All damage chips the enemy Toughness bar; once broken, the enemy takes more damage and is delayed. Physical units are common early-game breakers.
- Synergy with DEF shred (Nihility units) — Physical carries benefit from DEF-reducing Nihility allies (like Pela) because their damage is direct and front-loaded.
Fire
The burn type — Fire Weakness Break applies Burn, a reliable damage-over-time.
- Burn (Break) (Fire) — Breaking a Fire-weak enemy applies Burn, a damage-over-time effect. Easy to maintain and scales with DoT investment.
- DoT detonation (Nihility DoT units) — Fire's Burn is one of the DoTs Kafka can instantly detonate, so Fire units are natural DoT-team members.
- Follow-up synergy (Follow-up attackers) — Some Fire units (e.g. Hook, Topaz) trigger Burn on follow-up attacks, rewarding aggressive taken-turns.
Ice
The crit type — Ice Break Freezes enemies and Ice carries stack CRIT damage.
- Frozen (Break) (Ice) — Breaking an Ice-weak enemy Freezes it: action delay plus increased CRIT damage taken. This is the setup Ice hypercarries exploit.
- CRIT stacking (Relics + Harmony) — Ice carries (Jingliu) want CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG and a Bronya CRIT-DMG buff to maximize the frozen-window burst.
- Slow synergy (Imaginary/Control) — Pairing Ice with a control unit (Welt) keeps enemies delayed longer, extending the frozen damage window.
Lightning
The shock type — Lightning Break applies Shock and fuels DoT teams.
- Shock (Break) (Lightning) — Breaking a Lightning-weak enemy applies Shock, a damage-over-time effect that is one of the DoT layers Kafka detonates.
- DoT stacking (Nihility DoT units) — Lightning + Fire/Wind DoTs stack on the enemy, then Kafka's Skill/Ultimate detonates all of them at once for big burst.
- AoE Shock (Some Lightning units) — Certain Lightning units spread Shock to adjacent enemies, improving AoE clear in DoT teams.
Wind
The shear type — Wind Break applies Wind Shear and Wind units often act first.
- Wind Shear (Break) (Wind) — Breaking a Wind-weak enemy applies Wind Shear, a stacking DoT. More stacks = more damage, rewarding repeated Wind hits.
- Action advance (Harmony Wind units) — Bronya (Wind Harmony) advances allies' actions, which compounds with Wind Shear uptime and Speed.
- Single-target focus (Hunt Wind units) — Wind Hunt units (Dan Heng) focus single targets and apply Shear efficiently on priority enemies.
Quantum
The entangle type — Quantum Break Entangles and boosts team damage taken.
- Entanglement (Break) (Quantum) — Breaking a Quantum-weak enemy Entangles it: action delay, increased DMG taken, and the effect can spread to adjacent foes.
- Resurgence synergy (Seele) — Seele's Talent grants an extra turn after a kill; Quantum Entanglement's delay helps her chain kills through waves.
- Team CRIT (Fu Xuan) — Fu Xuan (Quantum Preservation) grants team-wide CRIT Rate, amplifying Quantum carries' burst.
Imaginary
The control type — Imaginary Break Imprisons enemies and slows their actions.
- Imprisonment (Break) (Imaginary) — Breaking an Imaginary-weak enemy Imprisons it: significant action delay plus a speed reduction, the strongest control Break.
- Damage reduction (Welt's kit) — Welt also reduces enemy damage output, doubling down on control for safer boss fights.
- Boss control (Elite/boss content) — Imprisonment is most valuable on elites and bosses with long action bars, where delay equals free damage windows.
