Kafka DoT Team vs Solo: Why the DoT Tag Matters
Kafka's kit instantly detonates all active damage-over-time effects with her Skill and Ultimate. With a DoT team (other DoT units applying Burn/Shock/Wind Shear), her detonations are massive and sustained. Without DoT allies, she has almost nothing to detonate and her damage collapses.
DoT Core (Kafka + DoT allies) vs DoT Inactive (solo / wrong team)
DoT Core (Kafka + DoT allies)
Team: Kafka + Lightning/Fire DoT units + Sustain
Allies stack DoTs on the enemy; Kafka's Skill/Ultimate detonates every active DoT at once for burst, then the cycle repeats.
Pros:
- Highest sustained team damage in the game
- Detonations scale with number of DoTs
- Strong in long boss fights
Cons:
- Requires multiple DoT units to function
- Slower ramp than burst hypercarries
Rotation: Apply DoTs (allies) -> Kafka Skill/Ultimate detonate all -> refill DoTs -> repeat
DoT Inactive (solo / wrong team)
Team: Kafka + two non-DoT units
No DoTs on the enemy means Kafka's signature detonation never fires. She plays as a weak generic attacker.
Pros:
- Flexible team slots in theory
Cons:
- Large damage loss from missing detonations
- Feels weak relative to investment
- Wastes her kit's core mechanic
Rotation: Generic Nihility play with no burst spike
Verdict
Never run Kafka without a DoT team. A full DoT core is the entire point of the unit; without it she is a poor pull.
